Blueberry Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast
101 Old Madden Road
Jefferson, Maine 04348
|
You'll find our 225 year old organic farm at the end of a country road surrounded by
woods, fields, and acres of wild blueberry barrens.
The organic farm raises Scottish Highland cattle, Shetland ponies, goats, chickens, pigs, and various
vegetables along with a kitchen garden and orchards which all contribute to the ample breakfasts.
Certain seasons bring different activites on the farm. March is syrup weather
with Maine Maple Sunday the 4th Sunday of the month. Come help boil down syrup
or collect sap. Summertime finds us planting production gardens and then
harvesting in August. The 125 acres contain many hiking trails
with beaver boggs and wildlife. Clary Lake is only ½ mile away offering
swimming, canoeing, and fishing.
The farm is furnished with antiques, original art, and library. For our guest, we have a dining
room, a sitting room, an outdoor terrace with table and chairs and of course
the front porch. There are two bedrooms both with fullsized beds, one room has
a fireplace, and a small single bedroom - all with shared bath.
If you like quiet and solitude you'll like our spot but we are only a short distance
to Augusta, Damariscotta, Camden, and other coastal towns. These areas offer whale watching,
seafood, lovely unique shops, antiques, and of course great restaurants. Our farm is
featured in Carol Bass's book "Maine Living".
Hope to see you soon,
JoAnn and Ellis
